This course will provide an understanding of the value of using both internal and external benchmarks. Specific cautions are discussed so that the student will know how to use benchmarks appropriately, and explanations of billing, productivity, efficiency and overhead management benchmarks are provided, along with healthy ranges for comprehensive ophthalmology practices. Instruction regarding sources of data for individual practice benchmarks is also given.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be familiar with the most common ophthalmology benchmarks and will be able to calculate their office’s ratios using their own practice-specific data and then to compare those results to healthy ranges.

This module will take approximately 2 hours to complete and consists of 16 pages.
